Welcome to 5th grade, Wildcats!

Hello 5th grade students and parents!  I am so excited to spend this year with you at OIS.  Here is a little about me.

I was born and raised nearby in the Spring/Woodlands area, and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2006.  I then attended and graduated from the University of Houston (GO COOGS!).  After college, I moved to the Tomball area and began my career at Willow Creek Elementary teaching 4th grade.  This will be my 6th year teaching and my first year at Oakcrest!  I am probably as excited as you are to move up to intermediate school, and I feel even more privileged to work in a school with an amazing community like Oakcrest.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Russel, and our two-year-old son, William.  We are frequent fliers at the park and toddler gyms, so I’m sure we’ll see some of you around!  I also enjoy cycling, playing chess, hand lettering, and playing and listening to great music!

We are going to have so much fun learning math together!  It is my goal to give you some unique experiences this year that will instill a love of math and learning in general.

Flipped Classroom

I want to thank you all so much for your participation in the flipped classroom survey!  We had an overwhelmingly positive response.  If you haven't had a chance to watch the video and take the survey it is still open, so you can still do it.
If you did have questions and concerns that you submitted via the Google Form, I will be responding to those to try and address those concerns with you as we're getting started with our flipped classroom journey.  I haven't had the time to sit down and email all of you yet, so it will most likely happen over the weekend.
Have a great evening!
