There are several important events taking place this week:
- 5th grade students will be choosing the electives and whether or not they will be in Pre-AP next year during 4th period on Wednesday and Thursday. If your child chooses a Pre-AP course, he/she will need to bring the choice sheet back signed by the parent. More information and the sheet can be found on this link: https://goo.gl/qwufhi or visiting the school website.
- This Friday is the second annual Artrageous event! It all begins at 5:30 PM. For more information, please check out this link: https://ois.tomballisd.net/apps/news/article/656325
This week we will be finishing Unit 4 covering Algebraic patterns.
Monday and Tuesday - the students will be working in stations and with the teacher trying to take word problems and create/solve equations.
HW: A paper review was sent home covering the material that will be tested on Thursday. The homework is due Wednesday and the 5th grade math teachers created videos showing the steps to solve all of the problems.
Wednesday - the students will be completing the review for the test on Thursday.
Thursday - the students will be completing the Unit 4 test covering algebraic patterns. This will cover simplifying expressions, input-output tables, graphing and writing equations for multi-step word problems.
Friday - the students will reflect on the test and go over any mistakes that were made on the test.
Some of the students are running low on supplies. Please check with you child to make sure they have everything that he/she need to be successful. One item that the students need, that they are running low on is dry erase markers. We use dry erase markers in math class quite often. Thank you for your help and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to email, call or use the remind 101 app. Have a great week!
