Welcome to Ms. Jackson's home page! I am thrilled to be a member of the OIS Science team and I look forward to encouraging each of your students to grow as scientists this year.
I am a graduate of Rice University and have taught in Houston ISD, Onalaska ISD, and Conroe ISD.  I also founded a K-12 private independent day school in Livingston, TX that promoted project-based learning (PBL), collaboration, and critical-thinking skills for students. I have taught many different subjects during my career and have served as a GT Specialist for grades K-8, been a K-12 curriculum developer, a swim coach, and a cheerleader sponsor. I have also had the honor to receive a certification from the prestigious Columbia University Teacher's College Summer Writing Institute.
In my spare time I enjoy my dog and cats, reading, running, and even flying trapeze! (Yes, I really do flying trapeze! Click this link.)
