Welcome!

I am originally from Houston and grew up in the Jersey Village area. After high school I attended Texas A&M University and received my degree in interdisciplinary studies for middle grades with a specialization in math and science. I recently completed my masters in educational administration at Lamar University.

I am so glad to be a part of the Oakcrest Intermediate School family. I taught math and science in grades 5, 6, and 7 in Tomball for ten years. This year is my third year to serve as the math instructional specialist at OIS.

When not at school I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, cooking, reading and traveling.

6th Grade TMSCA Students

Only students in grades 6-8 are eligible to qualify for the state competition. If a student earns a qualifying score at any of the three regional qualifying meets, they are eligible to attend the Championship Meet in San Antonio.  Regional Qualifiers are tentatively scheduled for February 17th, 24th, and March 3rd. Qualifying scores Number Sense: 55; Calculator: 150, Mathematics: 90, Science: 100.  Students only need to qualify for an event at 1 qualifying meet. For example, if a student attends the February 17th meet and qualifies in number sense they do not need to attend the February 24th or March 3rd competitions unless they want to.  The Championship Meet is currently scheduled for April 21st 2018.
