Oakcrest Intermediate Wildcat Chorale
To produce life-long musicians by means of vocal music literature, development of vocal skills and participating in a variety of musical activities. We are excited you are interested in becoming a member of our prestigious singing group!
Cost: The cost to be in choir involves the purchase of a choir uniform shirt ($10.00-$15.00) as well as other uniform pieces (jeans, dress pants, tennis shoes, black dress shoes/flats.) There is a fee of $25.00 for an end of the year festival that we attend. Other costs associated with the group are optional; such as social events.
Choir Classes: consist of music reading and music performance skills as well as furthering students’ knowledge of music theory. Students learn to read unison and two part treble music.
♫ ICE CREAM SOCIAL: All Choir students stay after-school and enjoy ice cream sundaes & participate in an ice breaker activity. We will also make and sign a huge spirit banner.
♫ FALL CONCERT: The Fall Concert is the premier performance of the Wildcat Chorale to our parents and community.
♫ WINTER CONCERT: This is a formal concert event. We will share the songs we have learned in class with parents and the community.
♫ SPRING CONCERT: This performance is to showcase music we will prepare for a choral festival which will participate in during the Spring Semester.
♫ CHORAL FESTIVAL: The trip is during the school day. It is a competition, but also a reward for the students’ hard work and dedication.
♫ FINE ARTS FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE: Students will perform at the annual Fine Arts Festival which takes place at Tomball High School in the Spring.
♫ POP SHOW: The pop show will be a highlight of our 6th grade choir year. All students learn and perform choreographed songs. Many of the students will get to entertain the audience with solos or small ensembles throughout the show.
