Oakcrest Intermediate Wildcat Chorale
To produce life-long musicians by means of vocal music literature, development of vocal skills and participating in a variety of musical activities. We are excited you are interested in becoming a member of our prestigious singing group!

Cost: The cost to be in choir involves the purchase of a choir uniform shirt ($10.00-$15.00) as well as other uniform pieces (jeans, dress pants, tennis shoes, black dress shoes/flats.) Other costs associated with the group are optional; such as social events.
Choir Classes: consist of music reading and music performance skills as well as furthering students’ knowledge of music theory; students participate in several choir class periods and come together to form one big choir for performances. Students learn to read two (and sometimes three) part treble music.
Annual Events
♫ ICE CREAM SOCIAL: All Choir students stay after-school and enjoy ice cream sundaes & get-to-know you games in the choir room. We will also make and sign a huge spirit banner.

♫ FALL INFORMANCE & BBQ DINNER: The Fall Concert is the premier performance of the Wildcat Chorale to our parents and community. We will cater BBQ from a local catering company.
♫ GUYS NIGHT: Guys from the OIS, WWJH and NIS Choirs get together for a night of video games, pizza and football.
♫ GIRLS NIGHT: Girls from the OIS, WWJH, and NIS Choirs get together for a night of games, pizza and pajamas!
♫ WINTER CONCERT: This is a formal concert event. We will share the songs we have learned in class with parents and the community.
♫ PRE-FESTIVAL CONCERT: This performance is in preparation and to showcase music we will prepare for a greater North Houston choral festival which will participate in during the Spring Semester.
♫ CHORAL FESTIVAL: The trip is during the school day. It is a competition, but also a reward for the students’ hard work and dedication.
♫ FINE ARTS FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE: Students will perform at the annual Fine Arts Festival which takes place at Tomball High School in the Spring.
♫ POP SHOW/MUSICAL PRODUCTION: This theatrical production/pop show will be a highlight of our 6th grade choir year. All students learn and perform choreographed songs. Many of the students will get to entertain the audience with solos throughout the show. If we put on a musical production, students will have the option of auditioning for a role in the musical.
