Optional Holocaust Museum Visit

Remembrance week begins on January 27th. This is the day that Auschwitz was liberated by Allied troops. To commemorate and learn more about the Holocaust, we would like to invite all 6th-grade families to join us at the Holocaust Museum on Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 am.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and children up to 18 are free. This is a great opportunity for parents to interact and learn alongside your child as you tour and explore the museum together. This is not a school-sponsored trip. We simply feel this would be a valuable learning experience for our students. We hope your family can join us, but this is not required.

Please complete this form if you are interested in attending so we can send more information.

We are continuing our Government and Economics Unit this week in World Cultures. Students will be actively engaged in economics systems simulations, factors of productions, and review stations this week. On Monday the Government and Economics Review will be going home. This study guide along with other resources in Google Classroom are excellent ways for students to prepare at home for the upcoming test on Wednesday, November 6th

We will be celebrating Día de Muertos this Friday, November 1st. Día de Muertos is an important cultural holiday celebrated in Mexico. It is a fun day to remember and celebrate family and friends who have passed away. In honor of this special day, students may dress up in all black (no face paint), bring in traditional Mexican foods to share with the class, and/or bring a copy of a picture of a loved one who has passed away to honor on our classroom display. We have to be very careful of food allergies, so no peanuts or tree nuts of any kind are allowed. All foods must have a list of ingredients included. Please contact your teacher if you have any questions or concerns about allergies. We will coordinate with the nurse and parents to make sure all students have an enjoyable experience!
